Raised in Colombia, Dr. Dina Winograd quickly became a citizen of the world. She has lived in California, Chile, Massachusetts, North Carolina and, more recently, Texas. A native speaker of Spanish and English, Dr. Winograd enjoys travelling and exploring the world along with her husband, Mauricio, and her toddler son.
Dr. Winograd completed her undergraduate training at Brandeis University in Boston, MA, where she majored in Biology and Neuroscience. She completed her medical degree at Wake Forest University School of Medicine in North Carolina. She finally settled in Houston where she did both her residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Endocrinology at Baylor College of Medicine. Her contributions to the fellowship program, and her impeccable work ethic, resulted in her election as Chief Fellow of Endocrinology. In addition to having a rich and diverse clinical training through Baylor College of Medicine’s affiliated institutions, Dr. Winograd has had the privilege to train and conduct research in some of the best institutions in the world, including Harvard University’s Mass General Hospital, and The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.
Dr. Winograd is a double board certified adult Endocrinologist and an active member of the American College of Clinical Endocrinologists and the Endocrine Society. She has particular interest in thyroid disease, calcium disorders, and endocrine conditions in pregnancy. She has an expertise in pituitary disease, having spent a large portion of her fellowship understanding the clinical management of pituitary disorders such as Cushing’s syndrome, acromegaly, and high-prolactin disorders, among others. Dr. Winograd is a published author in peer-reviewed journals and has written book chapters in pituitary disease. Her research and peer presentations have earned her multiple recognitions as top young investigator at national endocrinology conferences.
When she is not spending quality time with her family, Dr. Winograd enjoys writing, arts and pottery, and exploring the rich variety of restaurants in Houston.
